Marvel's Spider-Man Game Of The Year Edition is an action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released on August 28, 2019, for Play Station 4. This edition has all the base games along with post-launch downloadable content from 'The City That Never Sleeps' expansion. Marvel's Spider-Man was originally released in September 2018 and received widespread acclaim. 

Key Features:
  1. Story & Setting: The game is about an original story where the player controls Peter Parker who had Spider abilities for eight years. The player plays with Peter's personal life and superhero abilities. This game is set in New York City with iconic landmarks including the Empire State Building, Central Park, and many fictional locations. 
  2. Characters: 
    • Peter Parker/Spider-Man: The protagonist, living life as a scientist and a superhero. 
    • Mary Jane Watson: Peter's ex-girlfriend and an investigative reporter.
    • Miles Morales: A teenager who later gains spider-like abilities and becomes the main character of the game. 
    • Villains: The game has iconic villains, including Wilson Fisk (Kingpin), Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus), and Martin Li (Mister Negative). 
  3. Gameplay Mechanics: The standout feature of the game is Web-Swinging. It allows the player to swing through the City of New York with ease and style. The game has a dynamic combat system which includes, acrobatics, web gadgets, and environmental interactions. In some missions, players have to take down the enemies without getting caught, so there is a Stealth ability where a player can perform these skills. 
  4. Open-World activities: The game is filled with many side missions, challenges, and collectibles which help the character to develop himself. Players can help the city in robberies, car chases, and hostage situations.
  5. 'THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS' DLC: This edition of Spider-Man includes all three chapters of the 'The City that Never Sleeps' DLC which includes, 'The Heist', 'Turf Wars', and 'Silver Lining'. This expansion has new suits, enemies, and challenges. 
  6. Visuals & Audio: The game features high-quality graphics, detailed characters, a realistic environment, and impressive special effects. The soundtrack is composed by 'John Paesano' which enhances the emotional and epic moments of the game.
