Persona 5 is an acclaimed role-playing game (RPG) developed by Atlus for PS4 and PS3. This game was released in Japan in September 2016 and later in North America and Europe in April 2017. Persona 5 is a continuation of the series Persona. This series is about combining traditional Japanese role-playing game (JRPG) mechanics with life simulation elements and deep, character-driven narratives. 

Some key features make Persona 5 unique. These are the following:
  1. Story & Setting: This game shows the life story of a high school boy who was falsely accused of assault and was transferred to Shujin Academy in Tokyo. The boy along with different friends, formed a group named Phantom Thieves of Heart to combat corruption in society. 
  2. Gameplay Mechanics: Turn-based combat is a type of combat where players summon personas, exploit enemy weaknesses, use various attacks, and coordinate team attacks. On the other hand, there is Life Simulation where players manage a boy's daily life like attending schools, forming relationships (known as Confidants), doing part-time jobs, and participating in various activities to improve his social stats. 
  3. Personas & Confidants: Players collect and merge different Personas to make a better one with unique skills so they can use it in battles. Building relationships with different characters gives benefits in the real world and in-game with better personal stats. 
  4. Palaces & Mementos: Palaces are places where a corrupt individual is kept with a twisted desire. The goal is to infiltrate a person's treasure and reform their hearts. Mementos are dungeon which is helpful to the team by providing them side missions and additional opportunities. 
  5. Art Style & Presentation: Persona 5 is well known for its stylish, anime-inspired design, vibrant color palette, and unique UI design. The game provides an eclectic, jazz-influenced soundtrack composed by Shoji Meguro which has been widely praised and suitable with the game's atmosphere. 
  6. Acclaim & Awards: Persona 5 has received widespread acclaim for its engaging story, well-developed characters, innovative gameplay mechanics and artistic presentation. It has won numerous awards, including Best Role-Play Games at Game Awards 2017, and was declared as one of the best RPGs of its generation.
